ABOUT Lifeboat Counselling
Welcome to Lifeboat Counselling. My name is Abigail and I offer professional Person-Centred Counselling to individuals over the age of 16. I provide face-to-face sessions in Banff or Peterhead, as well as online sessions wherever you are located in the UK.
If you are considering seeking counselling please do not hesitate to get in touch for a conversation about how I may be able to support you. There is no 'right or wrong' reason to come to counselling. The work we can do will be individual to you and your life.
WHY Counselling?
Lifeboat Counselling offers a Person-Centred therapeutic approach. My practice is based on compassionate curiousity about you, your experiences and your difficulties. This means I will not bring an agenda or 'plan', but instead we will colaboratively explore the issues that you are facing.
Having a good connection with a counsellor is very important to your journey. If you would like to explore whether I might be the right counsellor for you, please get in touch, and we can arrange a short introductory chat, free of charge.
I have experience counselling individuals with a wide range of challenges and circumstances. Whatever has led you to consider counselling, you can expect this to be met with kindness, respect, and confidentiality.
Counsellor Qualifications
I hold a post-graduate diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Aberdeen. I am also a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the PVG Disclosure Scotland scheme. I also hold fully comprehensive professional insurance.
What happens now?
If you think I may be the right counsellor for you, please use the 'contact form' to send me a booking request. Alternatively, you may wish to send me an email, Whatsapp message or call me and we can arrange either an introductory free 15min call, or book a session.
Once you get in touch and we have had a chat, I will provide you with my information sheet and contract ahead of your first session. Please don't be daunted by this, it is simply an agreement between you and I detailing the arrangements, expecations and FAQ's regarding your counselling sessions. I will be happy to discuss any queries you have before or during your counselling appointment.
